Meet BioSPX on the following exhibitions
8 Feb. 2018 | NSABS 2018
Join the upcoming 23rd National Symposium for Applied Biological Sciences (NSABS)
on February 8th 2018 jointly organized by VUB and ULB. NSABS brings together junior
researchers, postdocs and group leaders in the multidisciplinary field of applied
biological sciences. An appointment not to miss in your 2018 agenda.
Since NSABS 2018 will cover the wide variety of topics in applied biological sciences,
it is an ideal opportunity for PhD students to cross the borders of their own scientific
discipline. PhD students are encouraged to present their project to a broad audience
(for starting PhD students perhaps for the first time) and receive feedback that can
improve their research. The organizers want to actively stimulate the participants
to view the world around them from different perspectives. The multidisciplinary
and interactive character of the symposium allows the participants to gain insight
in what their colleagues from other departments or universities are doing. While
science and technology are at the heart of NSABS 2018, we selected keynote speakers
that will also address career perspectives for young scientists as well as valorization
potential and key enabling technologies. During the lunch we intend to offer also non-mainstream
(and surprising) foodstuff. Besides traditional awards for best thematic poster presentations,
we will also have 3 awards for outstanding presentations with particular focus on
valorization, sustainability and multidisciplinarity. Last but not least, the organizers
themselves already crossed the borders in the Belgian university landscape and both VUB
and ULB joined forces to make NSABS 2018 a successful and memorable edition.
15 & 16 March 2018 | Laborama 2018
In 2018, the 19th edition of the annual trade fair for laboratory professionals will be held in
Thursday the 15th and Friday the 16th of March in Brussels Kart Expo in Groot-Bijgaarden.
Laborama Expo brings together a whole host of suppliers for your every laboratory need, going
from analytical equipment, software and lab furniture to consumables, chemicals and many more.
Go take a look in the “Products & Services” section under the catalogue tab do discover the
variety of products and brands that will be on show in 2018.
During Laborama Expo 2018 we'll see the return of the 2 Live Labs, albeit with an adapted concept. The live demonstrations
will all be separate to allow the visitors to pick and choose the ones to their liking.
In addition to the Live Labs, visitors can also participate in 2 routes. The Water Route takes
the visitor on a trip through the venue to visit exhibitors with products or services for water
research and treatment. In the Life Science Route, exhibitors that are active in the field of life sciences,
present their newest measuring methods and analysis techniques.
Be sure to not miss out on the seminars during Laborama Expo 2018. With speakers such as Iwan de Koning
from Janssen Pharmaceutice and professors Jan Tytgat (KUL) and Peter Van Eenoo (UGent),
the Conference Room will be buzzing with activity.
New this year is the Nova Square, where visitors can discover companies that are new to Laborama Expo.
Recycling and sustainability remain a focus of Laborama Expo. In 2018, the Recupel Drive In returns to the
Laborama Expo parking lot. In this collection point for small laboratory equipment, visitors can drop
off their old equipment prior to their visit to the trade fair.
